2008 Oratorical Contest
During February, Post 281 hosted not only our own Post contest, but also the County and District Oratorical contests. The purpose of the annual High School Oratorical Contest, sponsored by The American Legion as a National Americanism Activity, is to develop a deeper knowledge and understanding of the Constitution of the United States. Winning contestants at the District level will compete at the Department Oratorical Contest on March 8, 2008, at the War Memorial Building in Trenton, NJ. The National Finals Contest will be conducted, April 5-6, 2008, at the Indiana University-Purdue University at Indianapolis Conference Center & Hotel, Indianapolis, Indiana.
