Stetser-Lamartine
Post 281
Originally
chartered by Congress in 1919, The American Legion is a veterans and
community service organization of nearly 3 million members in more than
14,000 posts worldwide. Stetser-Lamartine Post 281 is proud to have
been a veterans' service organization in Gloucester Township, NJ, since
1939.
Members of Post 281, along with members of our affiliated American
Legion Auxiliary Unit 281 and our Sons
of the American Legion Squadron 281, work together throughout the
year to provide a wide range of services to our community, and to area
veterans, service personnel and their families.
Fundraising efforts by Post 281, Squadron 281 and Unit 281 allow us
to provide a wide range of gifts and
services to organizations throughout the area each year, as well
as support for veterans and area residents on active military duty.
In addition, Post 281 sponsors citizenship,
sports and Americanism programs for youth and provides substantial
scholarship assistance for high
school seniors.
As you explore our site, you will see that, on both a personal and
post level, Post 281 members continue to serve our veterans and our
local community in many ways.
New
members — both veterans and active service personnel — are
invited to join Post 281 at any time. If you are on active duty or a
veteran of any of the US armed services, and served during a World War,
the Korean or Vietnam Wars, or conflicts in Grenada, Lebanon, Panama
or the Persian Gulf, you are eligible for membership
in The American Legion; a PDF copy of the membership application is
available online.
Stetser-Lamartine Post 281 is located at the intersection of Lower
Landing Rd. and Chews Landing Rd., in the Chews Landing section of Gloucester
Twp. You will find a warm welcome waiting for you!
